To change your institution choice in JAMB (Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board), you’ll need to visit a JAMB office or an accredited CBT (Computer Based Test) center, request the “Change of Institution” form, make the required payment, and complete the form with your new institution choices. After submitting the form, your thumbprint will be verified, and a JAMB official will process the change through the JAMB CAPS portal. 
Here’s a more detailed breakdown:
    1. Visit a JAMB Office or Accredited Center: Locate the nearest JAMB office or a CBT center accredited by JAMB. 
    2. Request the Form: Ask for the “Change of Institution” form at the front desk. 
  • Make Payment: Pay the required fee, which may include a processing fee and the cost of the form. 
  • Fill out the Form: Carefully fill in the form with your new institution and course preferences. 
  • Submit the Form: Submit the completed form to the JAMB official. 
  • Thumbprint Verification: You will be asked to verify your identity through a thumbprint scan. 
  • Processing: The JAMB official will process the change on the JAMB CAPS portal. 
  • Confirmation: After processing, you should receive a printout confirming the change. 
Important Notes:
  • The process may involve fees, so be prepared to pay the required amount. 
  • Ensure you have your JAMB registration number and profile code when you go to the center. 
  • Changing institutions does not guarantee admission; you still need to meet the institution’s admission requirements. 
  • You can make the change online through the JAMB e-facility portal as well.

This is to inform all the candidates who made mistakes while filling their forms during the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) UTME Registration that they can now make corrections for the following categories:

  1. Names Correction: This allows candidates to apply for the correction of names where there are spelling errors or errors in the arrangement, e.g. Surname, Firstname or Lastname (Correction can only be done once).
  2. Date of Birth Correction (Correction can only be done once).
  3. Passport Photograph Correction (Correction can only be done once).
  4. Gender Correction: Supporting documents may be required.  (Correction can only be done once).
  5. State/LGA Correction: Supporting documents may be required. (Correction can only be done once).
  6. Profile Correction (Correction can only be done once).
  7. Choice of Institution/Course Correction: This allows candidates to apply for a change of course or Institution (Correction can only be done multiple times with separate payments).

NB: Changes for Course/Institution, Names, Date of Birth, Gender, State/LGA of Origin, etc., cost N2,500 (two thousand five hundred naira only).

Steps to Carry Out JAMB Change of Course / Institution / Data

Follow the procedure outlined below to effect any of the changes above:

  1. Go to the JAMB portal at https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng/.
  2. Login with your Email and Password.
  3. Click on ‘Registration ( only)’ from the list of services on the left side.
  4. From the drop-down, select ‘ UTME Data Correction‘ / ‘ DE Data Correction‘ as your case may be.
  5. Then proceed with payment.

After payment, visit the closest JAMB office or a JAMB accredited centre to complete the correction process.

JAMB Change of Course & Institution / Data Correction Procedure for  Downward

For and years below, follow the procedure outlined below to change your data on JAMB portal.

  1. Visit JAMB E-facility portal at https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng/.
  2. Login with your Email and Password.
  3. Click on ‘Application for Correction of Data (Downward)’ from the list of services on the left side.
  4. From the drop-down, select the one you wish to correct, i.e. Course/Institution, Name, Date of Birth, Gender, State/LGA of Origin.

Note that you may have to visit the JAMB State Office to effect some corrections.
