Can I apply for the IELTS exam after the 12th standard?
One can attempt the IELTS exam after completing the 12th class.
Is 12th marks important for taking IELTS?
As such there are no specific criteria set to appear for the IELTS exam. Also, there are no minimum marks or percentage criteria set to give the IELTS exam. Candidates need not have minimum scores in their high school to appear for the IELTS test.
Is there any minimum score needed to pass the IELTS test?
There is no minimum score required to pass the IELTS test. An IELTS result is calculated from band 1 to band 9 (highest). There is a ‘band 0’ score as well for those who had not attempted the test.
Are watches allowed in the IELTS test?
Test takers are not allowed to wear a watch in the IELTS test center. A clock is there in the test center, so, candidates can check the time there.

What is the age limit for IELTS?
There are no guidelines regarding the age of the test takers. There is no set IELTS exam eligibility for the age of the candidates. Anyone can take the IELTS test irrespective of age, gender, race, nationality, or religion, however, the IELTS test is not recommended for those below 16 years of age.
Can the IELTS test be completed in one day?
The Reading, Writing, and Listening tests are completed in one attempt on the same day. The Speaking test will be held even on the test day, or two days after the test date, or seven days before the test date depending on the arrangements done by the local IELTS test center.
What to do if the test taker falls sick on the test day?
If you are not attempting the test on the test date then you will lose your exam fee. If you provide a medical certificate within 5 days of the test date then you will receive a refund after deducting the local administrative cost.
Which IELTS section should be attempted first?
You have to attempt the Listening test first, followed by the Reading and Writing tests. The Speaking test will be held either on the same day or two days after the test date or seven days before the test date.
