A. In order to secure an 8 band score you need to answer at least 36 questions correctly in the Reading and Listening section. Both these sections have 40 questions each, so candidates need to score at least 89% score to get an 8 band score.

Q. Can anyone register for the IELTS test without a passport?

A. No, as per the guidelines by IDP, candidates need valid ID photo proof to register for the test. Also, test takers need to bring a valid passport/national identity card whichever they have used to register for the test. Without a valid ID, they will not be allowed to sit in the exam.

Q. How many days before the test date we can register for IELTS?

A. Candidates can register as early as three months before the IELTS test date and latest by one week before the exam date. This is subject to the availability of seats in your city/test center where you are looking to register for the exam. If there are more number of applicants than the available slots then you need to book for any other date or look for a different location.

Q. When do candidates receive venue details for the IELTS exam?

A. Candidates will receive an email and SMS at their registered email ID and mobile number confirming their venue details and schedule 2 days before the test date.

Q. How you can pay for IELTS Registration fees?

A. Candidates can pay through the following methods:

  • Net banking: You can pay via net banking, debit or credit card, or E-wallets
  • Cash: You can pay cash at any ICICI bank branch, here you just need to fill the ICICI payment slip and deposit the registration fee
  • Demand draft: You can pay through a Demand draft (DD) that must be in the name of ‘British Council’ payable at Delhi
