The number 1 activity admission seekers will do at the CBT centers is the UTME/DE registration. The application for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) requires some items and documents.

These documents/items will be required at the points of the registrations but not all prospective applicants are aware of what they should take along.

Both UTME and DE Applicants Should Go to CBT Centers With their Profile Codes

Although this may not be directly required. You will mainly need it when you want to buy your PIN. CBT centers may ask for it if you’ve not bought the PIN before going there. They will use this profile code to procure/purchase the UTME/DE ePIN for you.

They will also need the profile code to access your JAMB profile before they will begin the online registration.

In order to generate the profile code, if you’ve not already, send in an SMS – NIN followed by your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 e.g NIN 2871652911 to 55019/66019. Your line/SIM will be debited for #50. After this, a returning message, continuing this profile code should enter on your phone.

If you processed the JAMB admission last year or the year before, you may need to text RESEND to 55019/66019, using the same phone number used last year, to get the profile code back. Buy Your JAMB UTME/DE e-PIN and Take it Along to CBT Center

At the CBT center, there may not be enough time for them to procure PINs for candidates with many students waiting to be attended to. Most CBT centers will prefer you to buy the PIN on your own and bring it for the registration. With this, you can just walk in, complete your registration and return home.

To buy the e-PIN, after generating the profile code, walk into any commercial bank in Nigeria, NIPOST around you or buy an online e.g through Remita or let a trusted cafe procure the PIN for you.

After this, take your PIN along when going to any CBT of your choice. Apart from the money paid for the form, you’re expected to pay anything at the CBT center again. This is because the CBT center charges had been included in the form’s fee.

UTME Candidates Will Take Along O’level Results, DE Candidates Will Take Along with A’level Results to the CBT Centers

CBT must fill, scan and upload your O’level or A’level result to the JAMB portal before you leave the center. Some centers, though, may tell you they can’t handle that immediately. They will tell you to come back to reupload the results. Don’t forget to do that!

When going to a CBT center, be sure you go with your SSCE result e.g WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB, as a UTME candidate. Results to be taken along by a DE candidate may include the JUPEB, IJMB, Cambridge, RN. RM, NCE, ND, HND, or BSC result/certificates.

Be sure they do the uploading before leaving and if they don’t, make sure you’re aware so that you won’t forget to re-upload later. It’s important!

Although candidates awaiting results don’t have to go with their O’level or A’level results. The spaces to fill and upload these will be left at AR – meaning Awaiting Results. Such candidates will return to the same or any CBT center as soon as the results are out to fill, scan, and upload the results to the JAMB portal.

Take Along A Few Bio-Data, Schools/Courses of Choice Details and Subject Combination for the Courses

Here, though your bio-data such as names, date of birth, state of origin, LGA of origin, etc, must have been exported from your NIN for the UTME/DE registration, you may still need to write that along.

Some CBT centers will ask you to fill it on their designed paper-forms. This is only to keep tracks and records of their candidates – not necessarily that they will use all the details on the paper-forms.

Using the paper-forms will prevent them from making mistakes especially when picking institutions and courses you’re proposing.

Speaking of the institutions and courses of choice, kindly be sure you have at least three schools and/or courses on your personal paper when going to the CBT center so as not to get there and make mistakes.

No Payment is Required Again at CBT Centres

Starting from the 2022 admission year and probably into the future, JAMB has stopped CBT centers from accepting fees for their UTME/DE registrations.

As a result, the board has concluded the CBT charges in the form’s fees. It’s the board that will remit to the CBT centers their registration service.

Hence, while going to a CBT center for the registration, you don’t have to take any money along as you’re no longer required to make payment at the point of the registration.
